Timeless Juxtapositions with Matthew Dirst
Matthew Dirst juxtaposes Baroque with 20th-century music for harpsichord, in groups of pieces that highlight the timelessness of particular musical ideas and values. Paired composers include Élizabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre with Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, and Domenico Scarlatti with Béla Bartók. This program also features transcriptions from J. S.
