David Breitman

Quirky and Delightful
David Breitman will perform on our 5-octave replica Viennese fortepiano—presenting works by ­Clementi, C.P.E. Bach, and Beethoven’s quirky, delightful ­Bagatelles, Op. 33. Breitman is one of seven fortepianists featured on the complete Beethoven piano sonata cycle recorded on CLAVES. His 2021 book, Piano-Playing Revisited: What Modern Players Can Learn from Period Instruments, distills a lifetime of performing and teaching experience. He has been on the faculty of the Oberlin Conservatory since 1991.
